What does a car inspection actually check?

Whether it's a state safety check or a pre-trip once-over, a good inspection looks at the systems that keep you safe. Here's what we actually check on your car in Milpitas.

Brakes and tires

We measure brake pad and rotor wear, check the lines and fluid, and inspect tire tread depth, pressure, and wear patterns. These are the parts that stop you and keep you on the road, so they come first.

Lights and signals

Headlights, brake lights, turn signals, reverse lights, and hazards all get checked. A burned-out bulb is cheap to fix and a common reason cars fail a safety check.

Fluids and belts

We look at oil, coolant, brake, transmission, and power-steering fluids for level and condition, and inspect belts and hoses for cracks or wear before they fail.

Suspension and steering

Shocks, struts, tie rods, and ball joints get checked for play and leaks. Worn suspension shows up as a bouncy ride, uneven tire wear, or loose steering.

Exhaust and emissions

We inspect the exhaust system for leaks and the emissions components for proper operation. If your check-engine light is on, we'll scan the codes and explain what they mean. Book an inspection at (424) 509-2109.
